Lord of Darkness

The Lord of Darkness, known as Majin (魔神^?) in Japan, also known as Evil Lord, Satan, Devil, Demon, Great One, and Great Devil is a powerful demon from Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness that was sealed by the Legendary Braves. Astarte plans to release him by gathering the Legendary Treasures of Darkness. In the game's worst ending, he is freed and kills every living being in the planet, including Astarte and himself.

In Kagero: Deception II, he (or a similar being) appears in Ending No. 1, where he turns Millennia into a Timenoid to serve him. While his Japanese name is the same, he was renamed Draconia in other versions.

A similar antagonist in Trapt appears by the name of Malphas, although it is unknown if the two entities share any relations, or are even the same entity.

He plays a significant role in Deception IV: Blood Ties and Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess, where his "daughters" are sent on individual missions to set him free and exact his vengeance upon the human race.

Etymology

• Draconian is an adjective meaning great severity, that derives from Draco, an Athenian law scribe under whom small offences had heavy punishments (Draconian laws).
